Barnsley Civic Trust gives Shop Awards a boost

We are working with local partners to develop an award for town centre shops and businesses such as cafés and restaurants, recognising business skills, innovation, architectural design, and the impact of window displays on the street scene.

The Barnsley Shop Awards 2008

Barnsley Civic Trust wants to promote an exciting, vibrant and pulsating town centre. Our town centre is being revamped, so we are inviting town centre business, such as shops, cafes, hairdressers and beauty salons to enter the Barnsley Shop Award competition.

We are looking at the impact on the high street and are awarding outlets for imaginative and professional window displays.

Judging will take place between 7 - 21 August 2008.

The Overall winner will receive a special trophy. Ceremony to take place in the Autumn.

The Barnsley Shop Awards 2007

A record-breaking 81 town centre shops and businesses entered The Shop Awards 07, launched by Barnsley Civic Trust with Barnsley in Bloom.

The winners were announced at an awards ceremony held in October in the Town Hall in conjunction with Barnsley in Bloom.
